We had a short stay (2 nights) in the Old Town Hall. It was a very pleasent experience, especially since it was our first time to visit several places in England, at all. The rooms were: * well prepared and even the smallest room was larger than your average hotel room * equipment was top notch. Complimentary wine, milk, some chocolate in a mini-fridge. TV, Wi-Fi, bed with generous size and any other standard equipment that you'd expect in a room. * so was the bathroom (hairdryer, all necessary sizes of towels, bath robes, several shampoos and shower gels, hand creme, etc) * alot of our questions were answered in the welcoming book of the old town hall The hosts were: * very welcoming, a nice (almost family like) athmosphere, without beeing too over intrusive. A welcoming tea/coffee was offered to us * helpful for first-timers. You can feel free to ask any questions/suggestions concerning the surroundings for activities, sightseeing options, etc. They are happy to help. * positively professional (in constrast to the familiar approach) when it comes to take your breakfast orders and serve you in the morning A small car park, which fits up to 3 cars is available, for the old town hall guests. The surrounding is nice, the castle bolton (and its events like the falconry presentarion! ) is almost a must to see. A nice pub is close to it, which also serves decend meals, within 3 minutes walking distance. We stayed during a long and hot period in the summer (around 25 degrees celsius during daytime) which led to a little bit warmer temperatures in the rooms (which is however rare for english weather). It was not unbearable heat, it was just a little above average for room temperature. Windows and a fan are part of the equipment which helped maintain a decend temperature even in times of very hot and dry weather. If we were to visit the Yorkshire Dales again, we would certainly make the Old Town Hall one of our top choices.
